Belize City: Saturday 1st August 2026: Every year Belize observes Emancipation Day with ceremonies, speeches, drumming, cultural celebrations, and a public holiday.

It is right that we do.

The abolition of slavery represents one of humanity's greatest triumphs over oppression.

WHEN ECONOMIC GROWTH DOES NOT ALWAYS FEEL LIKE PROSPERITY "An economy can grow on paper while households remain uncertain about tomorrow."
